Changes to heating oil delivery law will affect homeowners - One more reason to use biodeisel! Homeowners with oil heating systems that were installed before 1990 will have to pay up to $300 to comply with a new state law that will take effect in July 2010. The "Oil Heating System Upgrade and Insurance Law" requires either a sleeve around the pipe that feeds the burner or a safety valve to prevent leaks. The new law allows all homeowners to buy insurance coverage for the cleanup of a leak if their system is in compliance. Via NEBB

Here are a few diesel cars sold in the US: Audi offers the diesel A3 TDI (current holder of the "Green Car of the Year" award) and an A4 diesel is rumored. BMW offers a diesel 3 Series and has plans to offer more. Mercedes has a long history of offering diesels in the U.S. and VW has the Golf, Jetta and the Touareg. Mazda has plans to bring a 2.2 diesel soon.
